Dear Alpha Students and Families,

Thank you so much for your patience these past few months as we have faced many challenges in every aspect of our lives. School itself will not be in session, but we may begin a system of small group or cohort (pod) instruction using a modified daily schedule. This is the good news that we have all been waiting for!

We are targeting a phased plan that will begin December 1, 2020. The keys to the plan will be sanitation, social distancing, and face coverings. When we bring students back on campus, we will be required to have only small cohorts or groups of students in classrooms at any given time. Beginning December 1, 2020, we will follow a modified daily and weekly schedule. We will phase in our small group return as follows:

Modified Cohort Days/Hours - Tuesday-Friday 8:30-12:00 (beginning December 1, 2020)

December 1: 12th grade Tuesday/Wednesday and 8th grade Tuesday/Thursday

December 15: 9th grade starts Tuesday/Wednesday, 12th grade continues Tuesday/Thursday

January 12- All students return but in small pods or groups. 8th grade Tuesday/Thursday; 9th grade and 12th grade Tuesday/Wednesday; and 10th grade and 11th grade Thursday/Friday.

Baseball Magnet 12:30-3:00 Tuesday-Friday

Softball Magnet 12:30-2:00 Tuesday/Thursday

Journalism Magnet continues with Zoom meetings only Tuesday/Thursday 1:30-3:00

Music Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday with Zoom 10-12

Grab and go lunch will be available at noon each school day. Students may pick lunch up on their way home for the day. No facilities will be provided for consuming food on campus. The cafeteria will be closed. Students should bring their own water bottles.

In order for Alpha students to be on campus every student and staff member MUST wear a face covering. Students with a fever will be sent home. Students without a face covering will be sent home. These safety precautions will assure all students and staff will remain safe and healthy. In addition, we have amped up our cleaning protocol and all restrooms and school facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at the end of each school day. Classrooms have been equipped with sanitation supplies and individual plexiglas desk barriers are in place. Students will remain at least six feet away from each other at all times while in the classroom. Students will not be allowed to meet or gather in the quad area or any area of the campus. We ask parents to check the screening protocol before sending students to school.

We know how important in person instruction is to our students. With safety precautions in place and utilizing the small group approach we will be able to provide our students with a safe in person instructional environment. We look forward to seeing everyone! If you have any questions please feel free to contact the district office at (916) 991-2244.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Sanchez
